gang tattoo database
Los Angeles Gang Database?
One of my friends who lives in LA (Koreatown) where gangs are prevalent got stopped by a police officer who took his picture, name, address, etc., and a picture of a small tattoo he has on his hand (his initials, and his only tattoo). The police stopped him because he was with a former gang member (that is his acquaintance from the gym, whom he just saw a few minutes ago on the street and stopped to say hi). He is NOT, not, not a gang member and can prove that to be the case (he has a full time job, goes to school full time, and has no gang affiliated tattoos). Someone told me that they probably (mistakenly) put him in the LA gang database. Do you think this is true, and if so, what can you tell me about it? How long will it take to be taken out of it, and can you get your name removed if you prove you’re not a gang member? Thanks in advance.
Well, if your friend is mistakenly accused there is nothing you can really do about it except go down to the station and talk to the Sergeant that is in charge of the officer that put your friend in the database. That is not really proof saying that he has a full time job, it’s not that easy. You have to have real SOLID evidence, espically in Los Angeles because they have a huge police department. It is possible to do anything, it’s just you need to have really good solid evidence, but if you are wrong and you are fighting something untrue, they can charge you and put you in prison, or put you as a known accosiate with your friend.
