So many famous people today are descended from the land of Greece. Below are some well known names from the past, along with a few modern surprises …
Socrates – The father of Western philosophy. Socrates taught, that the unexamined life is not worth living, and although he is not his own definition of Truth, which he thought to question what others believe to be true, as we know as the Socratic method to solve a problem through decomposition into a series of questions the answer is to gradually distill the answer was sought involves and help you a true self-knowledge.

He has strongly led by the systematic study of clinical medicine and prescription The doctors credited by the Hippocratic Oath and other works. He was the first to separate the discipline of medicine from religion to believe that illness is no penalty of applied to the gods, but the product of environmental factors, nutrition and living conditions.
Aristotle Onassis – The most famous of the 20 Greek shipowners Century and the founder of Olympic Airways, the Greek national airline. Originally born in Smyrna, he fled after the invasion of Turkish troops and went to Greece as a refugee. From there, he headed to Argentina, where he began again on the family tobacco business after a difficult start to flourish and made him his first million. He purchased his first ships in the 1930s and later that decade, the first Greek tanker business was to enter.
Mary Callas – A U.S. born Greek soprano. One of the largest and most versatile operatic singers in recent history with a voice that is difficult in modern Singing classification space. She sang an incredible variety of roles, and gave some of the emotional and visual dramatic performances.
Yanni – Born Yannis Chryssomallis in Kalamata in the Peloponnese, he moved to America when he was 18 years old. Yanni is a self-taught pianist, keyboardist and composer with perfect pitch. Although the manufacture and sale highly successful albums from the mid-80s came his breakthrough commercial success with the release of his album and video, "Yanni Live at the Acropolis" shot in September 1993 and played again and again by the American channel PBS. Also known for his long term affair with actress Linda Evans.
Nana Mouskouri – Born as Ioanna Mouskouri on the Greek island of Crete, Nana speaks five languages, but sing their songs in more than 15 different languages, you deserve a place as one of the ten best-selling female recording artists of all time. Nana Mouskouri has one vocal cord that is thicker than the others and this unusual condition accounts for their unique Voice. Nana has steadfastly pursued many types of music and over 300 million albums sold worldwide.
Demis Rousos – Born Artemios Ventouris Roussos in Egypt to ethnic Greek parents of his parents in their native Greece after the Suez crisis back. After five years as lead singer of the group We Five "and the realization of large Popularity especially in Europe, Demis started a solo career, which would travel the world and saw many international hits released in a career that has spanned more than 40 years.
