Anyone have a good idea for a tattoo to commemorate a mementous time in my life?
I’ve recently come to the end of a long battle in my life after years of struggle. I’m getting a tattoo to mark this time in my life so I’ll always remember the long hard road it was and that I can do anything. Thanks!

Phoenix tattoos are beautiful, and signify rebirth and fresh starts. This might not reflect where you’ve been as such, but what you’re doing now – experiencing the beginning of a new chapter in your life.
I’m struggling to think of something that encaptures both the journey you’ve been on and where you are now, I’m envisaging a long silhouetted road with a sunset at the end of it, if it was possible to draw that up to look half decent, I can’t quite picture it!
Alternatively you could look for a quote or lyric that means a lot to you and signifies everything – I love writing tattoos, I have many myself! The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is something I’m considering getting – George Harrison’s ‘all things must pass, none of life’s strings can last, so I must be on my way and face another day’ – but that really sounds like the past is more positive and you’re having to wave goodbye to it, as opposed to breaking free from a battle. But I’m sure you could find something personal to yourself.
In your shoes I would get the phoenix, there are some really beautiful designs. But I’ll let you know if I think of anything else. Good luck whatever you choose.
