tattoo angel wings meaning

I know that tattoo's mean something to you and what other people say, is actually care, but I want to know. I got the idea from the first two steps angel wings tattooed on me, one on each hip. Quite small and most likely only black (with beautiful shades). http://fc07.deviantart.com/fs6/i/2005/110/6/2/angel_wings_tattoo_by_cannibol.jpg (I love the look of these, but I would much smaller … a few centimeters at most) Sounds like it would look stupid? I know, wings are on the back, but I do not want something so visible. Also what the pain assessment in this area? Not necessarily on the hip bone, but only in the hip area. I'm pretty thin, no fat in this area at all.
I think that would be pretty cool. I would put it around your belly button or lower the center of your stomach. Further out, seems somehow strange. I have a Pegasus on my lower abdomen and the only thing that has really hurt or bother me at all during the tattooing process was the hooves back because they have the hip bone sit and they would be much bigger I do not think I could have dealt with the pain much more.
