Will a tattoo blowout get worse over time?
I have several tattoos that are one to three years old and some have minor blowouts. I can live with it but will they get worse over time? It’s not a big deal really but I’m kind of OCD. My back tat has a slight smokey effect where there are large black areas. I’ve been told I have bad skin for tattoos real soft and stretchy and I scar and bleed easy. Idc about minor blowouts but there will be a problem if it gets worse.
Find an experienced tattoo artist, with quality inks, and a good hand.
They can ‘sculpt’ the lines that have ‘blown out’ and make your tattoos look like they should. Sometimes the lines have to have minor changes in them to fix this, but your overall tattoo image will improve. Often the choice of needles, and the skill of the artist will win out, and make this worth it.
Look for someone with at least 10 or more years under their belt. Look at the line and shading in their portfolio, to see how they handle ‘fine line’ and delicacy.
If you find the right artist to go over your tattoos, I believe that you will be happy with the results, and with excellent aftercare, they will hold up well over time.
Your aftercare is vital to the end result after healing. To help avoid the ‘blow out’ (after the work is done without ‘blowout’), you need to try to keep the skin from moving and twisting, and pulling and stretching.
Especially during the 1st week. You must do the cleaning and the lotion, but also, adjust your movements during healing.
If you do this and it heals well, you should be fine with regular high sunblock use for the rest of your life.
