Tattoo itching Had it for a while?

I have my tattoo 2-3 years ago and recently has been itching like hell. There are also dead skin out after I itch it. It's always been since I got it and it's my inner forearm raised to. I have lotions, but it still itches. What's going on with him?

I wish I could help, but I have the same! The tattoo on my wrist is 2 years old and was also raised from day one. It itches like crazy, and is always scabby and dry! I'd checked it in the DR, to be honest. I have checked out me and they gave me a cortisone cream (which ever had no effect) and said that if the cream does not help, I should get a biopsy because it is a chance it could be an infection there. Go to the pharmacy, and try an over-the-counter cortisone ointment (such as ego Dermaid 0.5 or 1%, depending on how itchy it is) and if that is not clear that in a week, go to the DR, and tell them what you wanted. It will either prescribe you a stronger version of the corticosteroid ointment, or a biopsy. Oh, and the cream does not affect the tattoo at all! Good luck!
