Viking is a tattoo automatically racist? I have a tattoo for my father that he said he wanted to.?
It has a Norse warrior front of the flags of Sweden and Norway, the two countries of his heritage, including the family name. Then last week he saw a show about prison, as the Viking Tattoos mentioned on white racists context. He is not racist in any way, but now is having second thoughts about the tattoo. From my research, seem viking-related racist tattoos, the Rune of Odin's icon. A few of the (historically inaccurate) horned Viking popular culture by a swastika and white power-related Sign accompanied. My design does not contain any of these symbols and the (hornless) warrior is meant as a symbol of his heritage. I do not know how the idea of all the markers on our Roots used for co-opted as despicable. Why Vikings or clovers to be no more than a racist African / Native American tribal patterns or Puerto, Rico flags? That said, I know the swastika was once meant something quite different and do not want that people assume he is racist.
Hi there … even Celtic Cross Irish and spiritual Christianity has been used by white racists. I think I saw the program … and to be honest, this is the first thing I heard. The kidnapping of symbols, groups, is nothing new …. My wife and I have a tattoo of chakra colors .. Basically, red, orange, yellow, green, blue indigo and violet …. Not a gay pride rainbow. The rainbow has always taken a symbol of happiness, etc., represent the gay movement. In principle I dont think there are many who know who claim rasist meaning behind a tattoo Viking would. You se a lot of the conventions on men and women … especially in Europe and they are not racist ..
